Nancy Herman Daffodil oil on canvasboard 6"x8" 2012
I find the work of Nancy Herman quietly mesmerizing. All her work possesses the same air of meditative calm, whether her subject is flowers, vegetables or even city scenes. Her work is small, and she posts frequently to her "Postcards from Merion" blog, but her style stands out from the Daily Painting crowded field for its careful, patient rendering of form, with her brushwork never shouting for attention. She usually includes thoughtful reflection with her blog posts.
I'm going to finish up the rest of August with paintings by contemporary artists who blog their work. If you have a suggestion, please email me.
