Six Winter Photographs

Gerhard Hüdepohl Winter Night Sky

Roger Brown has sent in this photograph by Gerhard Hüdepohl for this month's theme of winter. He says:

This is not a painting but a photograph taken by Gerhard Hüdepohl of the winter night sky in southern Chile. Hüdepohl takes a lot of photos for the ESO, a network of observatories in Chile. His website, atacamaphoto.com seems to be more commercial than artistic.

Roger also sent in a winter scene by the Hungarian photographer André Kertész:

André Kertész Washington Square 1954

I thought I'd join in and post some more winter photographs:

Alfred Stieglitz Two Towers, New York

Henri Cartier-Bresson Rüdesheim am Rhein 1956

Josef Sudek Winter Scene. 1960s

Harry Callahan Weeds in Snow, Detroit 1943

The month of December will be dedicated to the theme of "Winter". Please email your suggestion (not your own work please) with a few words to describe why you like it. Be sure to include the title, medium, size and year.
