The month is off to a great start with a look at the work of Diane Hoeptner. She has chosen "Daffodils on Pattern" as her personal favorite painting from 2012:
Diane Hoeptner Daffodils on Pattern oil on wood 8" x 8" 2012
I'm trying to incorporate pattern into my paintings. This is one of the first times it worked really well.
Now, here are two of my favorite paintings of Diane's from 2012:
Diane Hoeptner Sparrow on Pattern oil on cradled wood 6"x6" 2012
Diane Hoeptner Fennec in Sun oil on cradled wood 8"x8" 2012
You can see more of Diane Hoeptner's work at her blog and her website.
My secret inner design junkie must be constantly fed as well as challenged.

There are so many good painters who blog that it'll impossible for me to get to them all this month, but here's an idea. If you are an artist who blogs, and would like to be included this month in The Art Room, please email your choice of your ONE favorite painting from 2012, along with a link to your blog. Include the title, size, medium, month and year. All of these submissions will be included in one grand and interesting post towards the end of the month.

Great new subject and Diane is a wonderful artist to kick off January with. She is a fantastic artist!
ReplyDeleteDiane's daily email brings sunshine to my inbox! Her work is always cheerful, playful, and she's not afraid to try new things. I know she's gained a lot of recognition for her cool cat paintings this year, but I'm glad she chose one of her beautiful flower paintings as her favorite. Love this one of daffodils!
ReplyDeleteI've been a fan of Diane's work for a while, and these are terrific examples!
ReplyDeleteLove The Art Room blog and love Diane's wonderful work with the intricacy and simplicity of patterns. The yellows in Daffodils are so well done.
ReplyDeleteI found it almost impossible to pick just two contemporary paintings of winter. You selected two of my favorite painters and then packed the choices with paintings I liked very very much.
